Sol-gel

Chairman: Dr. Facundo Ruiz (UASLP)

The Science and technology of sol-gel are in constant evolution and new applications related to sol-gels are reported nearly every day. The ability of sol-gel technology to manipulate the structure of materials at the molecular level makes it an ideal experimental platform for the processing of advanced materials. Furthermore, due to the great variety of applications the sol-gel technique promotes a great deal of multidisciplinary studies. The aim of this symposium is to offer a platform or forum for information exchange between the sol-gel community and scientists of the different fields interested in the study and applications of materials obtained by the sol-gel technique. The following subjects are covered by the symposium.

  • Sol-gel syntheses of silicate and non-silicate materials
  • Nanomaterials
  • Optoelectronics
  • Structure and properties modeling
  • Biomaterials
  • Catalytic materials
  • Chemistry of precursors
  • Doped sol-gel materials
  • Environmental aspects
  • Materials for electronic applications
  • Mechanical properties of sol-gel materials
  • Miscellaneous new materials
